About Us

The Autism Organisation of Zimbabwe
Transforming Lives, Unwrapping the Gift

Who We Are

The Autism Organisation of Zimbabwe was formed in 2009 and registered in 2011 as a Private Voluntary Organisation. We are a voice for people living with autism, promoting inclusion, empowering families and championing acceptance, respect and love.

What We Do
Our primary aim is the rehabilitation of people living with autism.

  • Rehabilitation and care: supporting children on the autism spectrum to reach their full potential.
  • Skills training and support services: equipping people with practical skills.
  • Awareness: helping communities understand autism.

A Home for Children in Need

Children who have been abandoned are referred to us by the Department of Social Services. On our farm in Ruwa, they find a safe, caring home where they are looked after, supported and encouraged to grow.

Life on the Farm

Our farm is an important part of our therapeutic programme. Its calm, peaceful setting gives children a break from the noise and pressures of urban life, creating the right conditions for learning and emotional development.

Our Promise

We believe every person on the autism spectrum has a gift to share, and that it is our responsibility to help unwrap it. Every year we mark World Autism Awareness Day on 2 April, because awareness leads to acceptance, and acceptance changes lives.

Join Us

We rely on the generosity of individuals, businesses and organisations. Whether you donate, volunteer, share your skills or partner with us, you can help us give children a brighter future.
